Domain Pairing 2010 with ccTLDs

One of the reasons why I really like .jp is there is actually space for me to get the domains I actually really like & want to develop. Recently is a new first for me. I have 3 domains for one online service I want to make. All .jp & all make sense.

The first two were registered by me long ago.
The IDN & Latin Letters
Atlanta.jp & アトランタ.jp, I’ve yet to figure out which will be main.
Then I got the ultimate abbreviation ATL.jp in a drop. I couldn’t believe I could be so lucky.
This domain can be used as a shortner or even addition to branding.
Or used as a redirect for users, or an additional email address.

We have to remember domains are best if they can be developed. This is why I do pairing. I want to make sure I control the brand. I have quite a few domains in JP that I bought just to pair them together for development.

The whole purpose is to just use the IDN and not the ascii too….

    ATL.jp is worthless

Thank you for the reply. This is where we as domain investors have to think about development & how to use domains. Without knowing what I want to create, you say it's worthless.
It's not about only using IDNs.
It's about using domains to your advantage to reach success.

I am making a system that I need to be accessed by Japanese & non Japanese. Some systems are not yet IDN Compatible & having a short acronym I can use it for a shortener or even another domain for just mobile.

It's not well known but even Twitter which is popular in Japan uses a shortened .jp just for mobile.

      They use twtr.jp
They also have IDNs for Japan.

      I didn't post this to resell ATL.jp.
For those who will develop it's a way of thinking about getting control of your brand. I'm not making a City related information site but naming something after the city. ATL is the common abbreviation.

Take your own investments out of the equation.

      In the English market
      Imagine if you can have

      AtlantaApartment.com AtlantaApartments.com & AtlApt.com

Think new school guy… I just got all 3 of the best terms for a brand I am creating called Atlanta in dot jp.

Atlanta Katakana: 14,000 search quieries last month on Yahoo/Overture
      Atlanta (Ascii): 4,000 search quieries
      ATL: 7,000 search queries

Small number of queries but if I don't own it someone else will.
